Education and Networking Groups

Active Support Groups Having epilepsy or caring for someone who does can be challenging. When epilepsy is diagnosed, it affects the whole family. Sometimes the practical problems of daily living – from insurance, to jobs, to medical care - may seem overwhelming. At other times, it helps just to talk to people who understand what its like to live with epilepsy.

Some people and their families living with epilepsy report a need for support and education within the epilepsy community. The Epilepsy Foundation Northwest Education and Networking Groups are designed to provide this to those who are interested in connecting with others living with epilepsy, and to learn from guest speakers on topics associated with epilepsy.

The groups listed here are open to anyone living or connected to epilepsy. These epilepsy groups are not intended to furnish medical advice or professional psychotherapy. YEA! Youth Epilepsy AdvocatesTM

Youth effected by epilepsy are encouraged to participate in monthly support meetings sponsored by YEA! Youth Epilepsy Advocates. YEA! provides a safe venue for youth with epilepsy to support one another, learn important advocacy skills, learn their rights and how to navigate systems that serve them.
