Light the Flame Dinner-Auction Raises $200,000!
The always fun and lively “Light the Flame” Dinner/Auction was held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Fairmont Olympic in downtown Seattle. Over $200,000 was raised to benefit uncompensated programs and services of the Epilepsy Foundation Northwest. Some 300 guests from all over the Northwest attended including business and community leaders, medical professionals, sponsors, volunteers and many more.
The festive Mardi Gras themed evening featured travel auction items, one of a kind gift items, themed baskets, west coast wine and much more presented during the Silent and Live Auctions. A scrumptious meal will be prepared by the chef at the Fairmont Olympic to accompany the evening theme.
The 2015 Arthur A. Ward, Jr. Achievement in Epilepsy Award was presented to Catherine Nunneley, R.N. who is a long time neuroscience registered nurse and community volunteer. Catherine is an avid volunteer for EFNW traveling around the Northwest educating people about epilepsy and seizure management. Ms. Nunneley was introduced by her daughter, Miranda Levy who has epilepsy and is also a volunteer for the Epilepsy Foundation Northwest. Ms. Nunneley is someone who has committed herself to the betterment of the epilepsy community above and beyond expectations.
